TEHRAN -- Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan will be honored by the Fajr International Film Festival in February.

Organizers of the Fajr festival, Iran’s most prestigious film gala, plan to present Bachchan with a lifetime achievement award.
“The film festival in Tehran invites me to honor me with a lifetime achievement (award). I wonder if it will be possible for me to go there. I have another decoration in Davos at the (World) Economic Forum that I have accepted around the same time,” Bachchan wrote on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.
He is most famous in Iran for his roles in “Sholay” and “Shakti”.
Although most Iranians are familiar with almost all of Bachan’s films, they mainly identify with him as “Vijay”, the name of the character he played in “Shakti”.
